Corporate Social Responsibility
Jules Derks piglet and pig trading business is actively committed to corporate social responsibility, with a focus on people, animals and the environment. Sustainable and social initiatives are implemented both on the agricultural farm and at the former arable farming site.

Agricultural entrepreneurship with care for the region
Jules Derks piglet and pig trading also takes its social role seriously outside the agricultural business:
In collaboration with healthcare organisation ‘t Heem, the company wants to develop a residential care facility on the former agricultural site.
The aim is to bring back the feeling of rural life. The 26 residential units will be single-storey with all the necessary facilities. The design takes into account the possibility of meeting and being together. For example, there will be a large communal living room and a small pub. There will also be a communal courtyard garden and people will be able to work outside in the vegetable garden.
‘t Heem’s vision is based on ensuring a pleasant old age in a safe environment with the guidance and support that residents need.
Mobility has also been taken into account. The neighbourhood bus will have a stop in front of the building. There will also be ample parking spaces for children and grandchildren who come to visit.
