In addition to its own sow farm, Jules Derks Piglet & Pig Trading also specialises in the purchase and sale of piglets and pigs in the Netherlands and Germany under the name Jules Derks Piglet & Pig Trading, and elsewhere in Europe under the name Depi (Derks Piglets).
The origins of Depi
Depi was founded in 2004, when the borders of Eastern Europe opened up and a large market emerged for trading piglets to this region. Jules and Diny saw this opportunity and founded Depi International BV. Since then, Depi has become a well-known name in the piglet trade in Eastern Europe, renowned for its high-quality piglets, its commitment to fulfilling agreements and its willingness to always be there for each other.
After Jules passed away, international trade temporarily slowed down, but the network that has been built up over the past 20 years still exists. The third generation does not want to lose this and is continuing the trade.
At Depi, we like to think along with our customers and offer suitable solutions for the sale of piglets, supported by a large network in Europe that we have built up over the past 20 years.
Animal transport and quality assurance
Jules Derks has a truck that fully complies with all requirements for the transport of live animals. Because transport is managed in-house, quality can be optimally guaranteed. The combination is equipped with temperature gauges that the driver can continuously monitor and adjust during the journey, ensuring that the climate remains perfectly suited to the animals. In addition, the animals always have access to clean drinking water, which contributes to maximum comfort and well-being during transport.
